Zagreb is the capital and the largest city of the Republic of Croatia. It is in the northwest of the country and is an important, popular travel destination. Since the end of the war, it has attracted close to one million visitors annually, mainly from Austria, Germany, and Italy.

More than 800 Croatian fellowships and 78 observerships have taken place until now.

The renewed agreement allows the University of Zagreb, School of Medicine to nominate ten qualified physicians per year to participate in the OMI seminars. In addition, an OMI satellite symposium or OMI visiting professorship will be held annually at the University of Zagreb, School of Medicine.

For a successful cooperation, two people have been nominated to support the Open Medical Institute in Zagreb. Dr. Gloria Leksic is the new local coordinator and will be promoting the OMI program by visiting other medical institutions in Croatia. Jasna Turkovic, who has plenty of experience with international correspondence and is well acquainted with the administrative facilities of the Medical School, will assist Dr. Leksic with her administrative skills and concentrate on promoting the OMI within the University of Zagreb.

The OMI is looking forward to continuing this successful cooperation!
