The Open Medical Institute presents a pediatric gastroenterology seminar in Mexico City designed to share knowledge about common pediatric gastrointestinal and liver disorders. The seminar is held over two and a half days and allows for intense interaction with attendees through lectures, discussions, and case presentations. The topics are presented during 45-minute lectures, followed by 15-minute Q&A sessions and discussions. The objectives of the course are to review the etiology, diagnostic work-up, and management for various gastrointestinal and liver diseases.
Topics include: Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Eosinophilic Disorders, Allergic GI Disorders, Celiac Disease, Constipation, Disorders of Upper Gastrointestinal Tract, Viral Hepatitis, Neonatal Cholestasis, Liver Failure, Foreign Body Ingestion, and more. The surgical topics include Pediatric Surgical Gastrointestinal Emergencies, Surgical Treatment of Biliary Atresia, Pancreatic Disorders, Hirschsprung’s Disease, and an overview of other common surgical procedures like gastrostomy tube placement and fundoplication.
