The Open Medical Institute hosted its annual Diagnostic Imaging course from December 7 to 9, 2021 as a virtual event.
Dr. David W. Trost, course director from Weill Cornell Medicine, and Dr. Franz Kainberger, co-course director from the Medical University of Vienna, created an exciting and captivating schedule. The skilled faculty comprised of Dr. Suzanne E. Anderson, Dr. Lily M. Belfi, Dr. Jessica Rotman, Dr. Christian Loewe, Dr. Hannes Platzgummer, Dr. Helmut Prosch, and Dr. John Tsiouris.
OMInar lecture content included metabolic bone diseases and body composition, imaging of the acute abdomen, sports imaging, CNS infections, female pelvic pain in the ED, interstitial lung diseases, brain attack, new trends in non-invasive cardiovascular imaging, and MR and US neurography.
32 fellows from 24 different countries were involved in the OMInar. Participants submitted case presentations in advance and the faculty pre-selected the most impressive cases. Two hours were dedicated for 10 selected fellows to present their clinical cases.
We owe a heartfelt thank you to all the faculty members for their commitment and willingness to convert a weeklong schedule of lectures into a three-day OMInar, which permitted fellows from all over the world to virtually gather among radiology experts to learn updated information in the field.
