The Open Medical Institute presents a family medicine seminar in Mexico City designed to share knowledge about common maternal and child health conditions and their diagnosis and management. The seminar is held over two and a half days and allows for intense interaction with attendees through lectures, discussions, and case presentations. It is geared towards family physicians in training and those in clinical practice. The topics are presented during 45-minute lectures followed by 15-minute Q&A sessions and discussions. The objectives of the course are to review the care of pediatric and pregnant patients, including common problems and preventive care. Additionally, there will be an opportunity for attendees to present brief clinical cases and attend a workshop on delivering unexpected news in the afternoon sessions.
The covered topics include low-risk pregnancy care, common newborn issues, contraception, breastfeeding, early childhood development, immunizations, sexually transmitted diseases, well child visits, shared medical appointments for pregnancy, pediatric care, and physician wellness.
